Focus and Scope
“Advanced Education” is an international peer-reviewed journal that publishes articles from around the world on higher education and lifelong learning.
Research topics include, but are not limited to, the following areas:
- methods of teaching foreign/second languages;
- foreign language learning for specific and academic purposes;
- testing, assessment, and evaluation in education;
- bilingual and multilingual education;
- information and communication technologies in learning and teaching;
- translation teaching;
- applied linguistic research;
- psychological aspects of learning and teaching;
- training and education of foreign language teachers;
- content and language integrated learning (CLIL);
- English as a medium of instruction (EMI);
- current and emerging trends in higher education and adult education
Contributions in applied linguistics should promote an understanding of the relationship between a specific field of linguistics and language teaching. Therefore, AE encourages interdisciplinary materials in the field of linguistics that link theory and pedagogical practice, support language learning, and facilitate students’ acquisition of communicative competencies.
The journal also welcomes articles focusing on STEAM as an educational approach to learning that incorporates science, technology, engineering, the arts (including foreign languages as part of the arts), and mathematics.
The editorial board welcomes manuscripts presenting research findings on topics of international significance in various educational contexts. AE gives preference to innovative works (empirical or theoretical) that contribute to the development of the field and generate new knowledge. Manuscripts may be based on a wide range of research methodologies (qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods).
